in September i will be spending the whole month at the Essence of Mulranny Creative Center in western Ireland.
i've already stayed several times before as a teacher, hosting creative retreats, but this time i've been invited to be an Artist in Residence.  it's quite and honor and i'm very delighted. 
the aim of the A-I-R program is to allow the artist to fully immerse in the environment (and it is a  splendid environment indeed!) and to have the time and space to explore new avenues and goals of creativity.
I have chosen to focus on myth and see where that oh-so-interesting path will take me! Myths of all times and cultures, new myths and the themes of myth that are universal to being a human. Ireland is a land rich in mythology and legends and faerie stories, so i intend to listen for the Irish Muses  to whisper ideas for stories and paintings and drawings and sculptures.

i'm doing this because having funds before i go instead of selling artwork afterwards will help me keep this time untangled from my usual business responsibilities, so i can concentrate on experiencing and creating, and listening for the muses!
