original wall piece: “Glimpse Into Another World”
This is one of the pieces I created when i was in Ireland for an Artist Residency recently.
I was exploring mythological themes - how could you not in a land as rich with myth as Ireland?
While there, I continued experimenting with encaustic painting. This piece is encaustic built over a sculptural form that I first created with epoxy clay. The combination was really interesting to me and i'm continuing to explore!
The painting needed a frame, so I added the mosaic boarder.
