Here is your Museling, who is happy to be your creativity support buddy.

But first you’ll need to activate your Merling. How? And what happens when you do?

You know how things can sometimes feel like they have a personality, even when they aren’t “alive” – a cool rock, a toy from your childhood, a charm, your favorite old shoes - anything really. Sometimes we just connect with things. And the more we connect, the more personality they seem to have, right?

Humans have actually been doing this for as long as there have been humans – all over the world, all different cultures. We look for personalities in all sorts of things, and always have.

And I think that maybe what we’re doing is we’re putting just a little of the energy of our attention into an object. Everything is energy, at least that’s my takeaway from quantum science, so would it be such a stretch to think that the energy of our attention could build up and make something feel just a little more magical? I can’t prove it of course, but it doesn’t matter anyway, because I have lots of imagination so I can enjoy the fun of believing it anyway. I bet you can too.

So here’s what all that has to do with this little Museling creature. In the classical Greek sense, the Muses are a conduit to inspiration. That’s big. But what about all the little creativity and small inspirations? Somebody could be part of that too, right? Lots of little somebodies maybe! for all the lots of little creativities! Small Muses….

So I sat down at my art table and let my fingers form the clay into those little somebodies, and tah dah! a plethora of Muselings emerged.

Your Museling can hang out in your creativity space, soaking up your creative energy while you make things, and then share that creative energy back to you when you need it.

That’s what I think, anyway.

Ok so how do you activate this Museling?

Here are the steps: 1. Once you have your Museling, hold it in your hand and wait to see what its name is. Just sit all comfy and look at that cute little face. A name will come to you eventually. 2. Find a good space in your creative area for your Museling. You can pick it up any time of course, and move it all around, but probably it’ll be delighted to have a spot to call home! 3. When you are ready to create, chat with your Museling. You can rub the head for luck or just for fun. If you want to talk to it about your creative ideas, do it! Whenever you’re in an exceptionally creative flow, make sure to direct some of that extra energy flow over to your Museling and ask it to hold that for you until you need it later. It’s really happy to help! 4. The longer you add energy, conversation, and attention to your little buddy, the more creative support it will be able to give back! Feeling creative block? Ask it for suggestions. Not sure which colors to use? See if it has an opinion. Want some feedback? Just ask. Now of course, you’re going to have to use your imagination to hear the answers, but you’re an artist! That’s what you do. You little Museling buddy will just make that process more fun. That’s it!

As your Museling hangs out in your art area, you might start to notice some other things that your Museling can do! I’ve only just met them myself, so there’s a lot I don’t know yet.

Your Museling is quite happy to just hang out with you, but they do like friends as well and there is even more magic when you have more of them in a group, all amplifying each other.So feel free to adopt another one sometime if yours seems a little lonely, or just in the mood for a friend. I know that might sound like I’m just trying to sneakily convince you to acquire more, but I’m only thinking of the happiness of your buddy and you, I promise! Happy creating!
